Cardinals Jump Eight Spots on Day Two at Super Regionals

LEMONT, Ill. - The SVSU men's golf team competed on day two at the NCAA Division II Midwest / Central Super Regionals at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont, Illinois.  After shooting a 307 (+19) on the first day of competition, the Cardinals trimmed eight strokes and recorded a 299 (+11) on day two.  It allowed the team to jump eight spots, where it now sits in eighth place overall with one round to go.

The 606 total has the Cards 20 strokes back of leader Central Missouri (586) and 13 behind the #4 spot.

Senior Micah Skidmore followed a first round 74 with another 74.  He sits in a tie for 19th place with a two-day tally of 148 (+4).  Fellow senior Carter Marsh tied Skidmore for the low SVSU round on Tuesday, as he followed his opening round 75 up with a 74 of his own.  He is currently tied for 22nd overall with a 149 (+5) total.

Sophomore Ryan Peruski fired a 75 (+3) for Saginaw Valley in round number two .  He sits tied for 78th with a total score of 158 (+14).  Senior Wyatt Drost rebounded from an opening round score of 87 to card a 76 in the second round.  He is tied for 97th with a total of 163 (+19).

Jeremy Schultz, who had a 75 in Monday's first round, had an 81 for SVSU on day two and is tied for 68th overall with a total score of 156 (+12).

Saginaw Valley returns to the course for the third and final round on Wednesday (May 6), looking to finish in the top-4 and advance to its second straight National Championships.
