BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University junior men's golfers Wyatt Drost and Micah Skidmore have been named to the 2013-14 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team.
Drost earns First Team plaudits in a year where he claimed the individual medalist honors at the 2013 GLIAC Championships in the fall. Wyatt tied for the top spot in the third NCAA Regional event as well, eventually falling in a three-man playoff. He had seven top-10 finishes and a 73.7 stroke average for the season, the second-best mark in program history.
It marks the second time that Skidmore has been named to the All-GLIAC First Team in his career, as he earned the distinction in 2012 when he was the league's "Freshman of the Year" as well. Skidmore had seven top-15 finishes this year and posted a 75.2 stroke average.
The duo helped lead the Cardinals to a third place finish in the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Super Regionals, qualifying for the 2014 Division II National Championships where they finished 19th overall.
