NEW ALBANY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team improved two spots in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Spring Invitational to finish in sixth place at the event.
The Cardinals shot a second round 311, making their final score 626 after a first round 315. SVSU finished 11 shots behind Ashland and Tiffin, which both tied for fourth place with a 615.
Malone University won the event with a two day total of 595 (303-292).
Eric Gandy had the low round of the day for Saginaw Valley. The senior carded a 74 (+2) and finished in a tie for 28th place overall with a 156 (+12).
Micah Skidmore finished in a tie for 17th after a second round 75 gave him a total of 154 (+10).
Carter Marsh, who held the lead after the first day of competition with a one-under 71, shot a 79 on Sunday to tie for fifth with a total score of 150 (+6).
Saginaw Valley is back in action on Saturday (Apr. 26), as they play in the annual GLIAC Preview Tournament at Elyria Country Club in Elyria, Ohio.
