SVSU Moves Into Third Place After Day Two At GLIAC Championships

BATH, Mich. - The SVSU Cardinal men's golf team improved one spot after day two at the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships.  After finishing the opening round in fourth-place, Saginaw Valley currently sits in third-place in the tournament.  The event is being held at Eagle Eye Golf Club.

SVSU followed-up an opening round 300 (+12) with a 307 (+19) on day two.  Ohio Dominican is the new tournament leader with an overall score of 599, three shots ahead of second-place Ashland and eight ahead of the Cardinals.

Micah Skidmore (Saginaw, Mich.) was the top finisher for Saginaw Valley on the second day of competition, as he shot his second-consecutive round of 74 and sits at +4 overall (T-3rd).

Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix, Mich.), who was the solo leader at -2 after the first day, shot a +6 78 in the second round and is tied for 3rd overall along with Skidmore at four-over-par.

Eric Gandy (Midland, Mich./Bullock Creek) also shot a 78 on day number two and is tied for 26th overall at +10.

Adam Hansen (Bay City, Mich./Western) registered the final scoring card for the Cardinals in the second round.  Hansen shot a second-round 77 (+5) and is +16 overall for the championship.

Saginaw Valley, being in the top-three heading into the final round of the tournament, will be teeing-off in the last five groups off of the first tee.  The final groups will begin at 10:15 am and go-off until 10:51 am.
