BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team competed in the Snowbird Invitational against Coe College on its annual Spring trip to Florida on Wednesday (3/9). The Cardinals posted a one round total of 302 to defeat Coe (321) by 19 strokes.
Adam Hansen (Auburn, Mich./Bay City Western HS) was the overall low scorer for SVSU, firing a 74 (+3), claiming a one-stroke victory over Coe's Derek Nicholson and teammate Nate Kelly (Suttons Bay, Mich.). Addison Monfils (Big Rapids, Mich.) posted a 76 (+5) to tie for fourth place in the event. Dan Warner (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill HS) and Dustin Vogl (Bay City, Mich./Bay City Western HS) each shot a 77 (+6) to tie for sixth place.
The event marked the official start of the 2010-11 Spring season for SVSU. The Cardinals will be back in action on March 26-27, when they participate in the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.
