Antjuan Simmons

Antjuan Simmons joined the SVSU coaching staff in the Spring of 2026 as an an assistant coach and will work with the linebackers. He comes to Saginaw Valley after three years with his Alma Mater, Michigan State University where he was an assistant defensive line coach. Prior to returning to MSU, he was the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator at John Glenn High School for the 2022 season.

“Coach Simmons is a relationship-driven coach who understands what it takes to compete and succeed at a high level. His experience as an All-Conference player in the Big Ten at Michigan State shows in the way he approaches preparation, toughness, and accountability,” said SVSU Head Coach Michael Engle. “He brings great energy to the building, connects naturally with our players, and does an outstanding job teaching the fundamentals of the game. Just as importantly, he takes pride in developing young men and building a culture our players and families can believe in.”

As a player, Simmons was a four-year letter winner with the Spartans. He accumulated 231 tackles in 46 games that included 20 consecutive starts at linebacker. He finished his playing career, ranked 26th in school history with 26 tackles for loss and 44th with 231 tackles. Simmons had seven games with double-digit tackles for his career, and he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection, earning honorable mention as a junior and second team as a senior.
