UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University baseball program had three earn American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest Region All-Defensive Team honors on Thursday. Ryan Jarvis (Macomb, Mich. / Dakota HS), Austin Cicerone (Troy, Mich. / Troy HS), and Jack Decker (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington HS) made the list as a first basement, third basemen, and pitcher respectively, which ties for the most selections for one team over all eight regions.
Jarvis played a perfect first base with 307 put outs and 10 assists over 317 total chances and played a role in 21 double plays. Cicerone earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors for his season at third base, posting a .974 fielding percentage with 40 putouts, 71 assists, and three errors and only one in conference play. Decker fielded his position off the mound all year with two putouts and 16 assists over 18 total chances for a fielding percentage of 1.000.
