Sequin Earns GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for No-Hit Performance

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University freshman pitcher Jack Sequin earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday.

Sequin threw the second Cardinal no-hitter of the 21st century on Saturday in a 9-0 win over Lake Erie. In his second career start, the Bay City, Michigan native pitched seven innings, allowed two walks and hit a batter, and struck out six. He also rolled up a double play and had a runner thrown out on the base paths to face one batter above the minimum. In the outing, Sequin threw an efficient 71 pitches, throwing just over 10 pitches an inning.

It's the first GLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors for Sequin's career and the first for the Cardinals in the 2026 season.

The last no-hitter for SVSU was in 2024 and was the first since 1992. The Cardinals swept the four-game series against the Storm, outscoring them 44-10. Saginaw Valley baseball heads to Maryville for a three-game series this weekend.
