Career Honors

2024 GLIAC Jack H. McAvoy Award

2024

Started all 11 games for the Cardinals in 2024, and helped anchor an SVSU offensive line that helped Saginaw Valley finish third in the league in total offense and fourth in rushing and passing. Thompson became the third Cardinal player to earn the prestigious Jack H. McAvoy Award and was the first to do so in 20 years. 

2023

Started the first three games on the SVSU offensive line before suffering a season-ending injury.

2022

Appeared in 10 games on the offensive line. He helped the SVSU running game rank 21st in the nation and third in the GLIAC with 208 yards per game.

2021

Played in 10 games as a freshman for the Cardinals. He made his collegiate debut in the 13-9 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on September 4.

High School

Prepped at Olentangy Liberty High School, where he participated in football and volleyball. He earned First-Team OCC Buckeye, First-Team All-Delaware County, Second-Team All-Central District, and Honorable Mention All-Metro honors. He received the 4-Year Academic Pin Award. He is majoring in elementary education. Son of Toby and Angie Thompson.
