ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State tennis team began the 2026 Fall portion of competition in Allendale, Michigan at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship over the weekend.

Freshman Mar Miramontes (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) highlighted in her debut for the team, finishing 2-2 in the Women's Open Singles Flight A bracket. Miramontes made it to the quarterfinals of Flight A consolation bracket before being eliminated by Maryna Piiukova of Southwest Baptist. The freshman added a 3-2 mark in doubles play, making it to the finals of the Flight A Consolation bracket with teammate Fatimah Butt (Miami, Fla.). The duo fell to Missouri-St. Louis's Morgan Lint and Sasha Lopez this afternoon.
