UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University men's swimming and diving senior Benjamin Wainman was named Men's Swimmer of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) office on Tuesday.

Wainman took first in the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyles at Wayne State this weekend with times of 4:38.00 and 9:24.42. Wainman helped the No. 14 Cardinals to a 129-114 win over the No. 21 Warriors.

This is the fourth Athlete of the Week award for Saginaw Valley swim and dive in the 2024-25 season and the fourth for Wainman. It is the fifth in his career.
