Saginaw Valley State University Athletic Restructures Ticketing Office

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University Facility and Events office restructured its operations by separating all ticketing operations into its own sub-department under the Facility and Events umbrella titled "Athletic Ticketing." Laney Wiley will now be moving into the newly created role of Athletic Ticketing and Game Day Experience Manager.

"We are very excited to move Laney Wiley into the role of Athletics Ticketing & Game Day Manager," said Interim Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Events Brad Barlog. "Being our Intern of Facility Operations & Events for the last year, she has proven herself to take on this new role and responsibility and cannot wait for her to excel in this position. Restructuring our office to have a dedicated person to handle all of our ticketing needs in our athletic department will not only provide better customer service to all of our guests, but also help our sports teams and student-athletes by offering more season ticket packages, cooperate packages, and overall drive up our attendance at our home athletic events."

With the new title comes new job responsibilities for the Facility and Event office. Wiley will be joined by Elizabeth Knowles who remains the Assistant Director of Facilities, Events, and Ticket Operations, and was the previous point of contact for all athletic ticketing related needs.

"First off, I want to congratulate Laney on her new position," lauded Knowles, who was the hiring manager for the Ticketing Manager position. "It has been a pleasure watching her grow since she was a student employee with our ticketing operations and event staff and then her internship role. I am looking forward to continuing working with her and to watch her excel even more."

Wiley will continue to lead the promotions department for all athletic contests as well fulfill her new roles in ticketing that include leading, planning creating, developing, and maintaining all aspects of ticket sales, promotions, and management.

""I have worked in ticketing since I was an event staff worker here, so I am excited to move into this new position," stated Wiley. "I know this job will come with some more responsibilities, but I am ready for the challenge."

Wiley began her new role this past Monday, May 22.
