UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University football team is preparing to host its annual Red & Blue Spring Game this weekend at Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium. The Cardinal Football Program is excited to be on a show for its fans and supporters.
The intrasquad scrimmage will kick off at 7 pm Friday and fans will be permitted to attend with guidelines for social distancing in place for the safety of those in attendance, as well as the student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
As with all SVSU outdoor athletic events, social distancing will be required for all fans. Masks must be worn at all times while in attendance and intermingling with the student-athletes, coaches, and staff will not be permitted before, during, or after the game. The format for the game will include four 15-minute quarters with a running clock, with the time stopping in the final minute of each half.
The offense can score in the following ways:
- Touchdown, 6 points
- Field Goal, 3 Points
- 2-Pt Conversion, 2 points
- Extra-Point, 1 point
- First Down, 1 point
- 10+ yard play, 1 point
Defensive scoring will be as follows:
- Touchdown, 6 points
- Take Away, 6 points
- 3 & Out, 5 points
- Force Punt, 3 points
There will be a maximum of 500 fans allowed into the game. You must email jechambe@svsu.edu to be put on the pass list to be guaranteed access to the event. Pass list fans must enter the game from 5:45 pm to 6:30 pm. General admission from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. No concessions will be available. Outside food will not be permitted. The Ticket Booth, Game Entrance, and Parking will be available in Lot C and C1.
