Cardinals Rank 34th in Final Winter Learfield Director's Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio - SVSU Athletics currently ranks No. 34 in the latest version of the Division II Learfield Director's Cup Standings. The Cardinals have 241.50 points, coming off a winter in which the women's swimming team notched 49 points with its 25th place national finish and the women's basketball team added 50 points after its NCAA Round of 16 appearance. The 99.00 points from the winter combine with the 142.50 from the fall for the total.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's.

The next Division II standings will be released on Thursday, May 18. SVSU's current ranking of 34th is 11 spots ahead of the school's best all-time finish of 45th during last season's 2015-16 academic year.
