BAY CITY, Mich. - SVSU junior softball student-athlete Meredith Rousse has been selected as the GLIAC Softball Player of the Week after her offensive performance over the weekend at the Music City Invitational.

Rousse had a huge weekend at the plate for the Cardinals at the season-opening Music City Invitational in Tennessee. Rousse hit .769, going 10-for-13 with a home run, triple, pair of doubles and five RBI. She drew four walks and added two stolen bases and four runs scored as well. She had a slugging percentage of 1.308 and struck out just once over the weekend.

Saginaw Valley continues on the road this upcoming weekend, traveling to Evansville, Indiana to play in the UIS Invitational Feb. 24-26. The Cardinals are slated to play six games over the three days.
