The Saginaw Valley State University softball team will travel to Findlay, Ohio to face off against Hillsdale College in the 2016 GLIAC Tournament on Friday, April 29 at noon in Findlay, Ohio.

The Cardinals (31-15, 15-11 GLIAC) enter this year's tournament as the no. 6 seed and the Chargers (26-10, 19-7 GLIAC) will occupy the no. 3 slot when the teams meet at Marathon Diamonds on Friday. SVSU has notched its second consecutive 30-win season and is looking to make another deep run in the GLIAC Tournament.

The two teams met in a doubleheader at Hillsdale on April 16, with the Chargers pulling out victories of 7-3 and 3-2. 

The opening round matchup between the programs is the second straight year, as the Chargers won last year's opening game by a 4-0 count before Saginaw Valley rebounded for an 8-3 win later en route to a runner-up finish and run to the championship series.
