BAY CITY, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University senior softball student-athlete Shelby Weeks has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week. 

Weeks had a great spring trip for the Cardinals, as she batted .500 this past week on the team's spring trip to Clermont, Florida. Weeks was a catalyst in helping SVSU rattle-off nine consecutive victories to move to 10-4 overall for the 2016 campaign. She belted three home runs, knocked-in 16 runs, had four doubles, a triple, four walks and scored a dozen runs for the Cards. 

Saginaw Valley is back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 22) when the Cardinals host Aquinas College in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. at the SVSU Softball Complex.
