SURREY, BC - Former Saginaw Valley State University quarterback and 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) "Player of the Year" Jonathon Jennings will get the start tonight (Jun. 11) for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in the team's 2015 preseason opener.  The Lions travel to take on the Calgary Stampeders in a matchup that will feature a 7:30 pm EST kick-off.

Jennings, who signed with the Lions in early April and is in competition to back-up starting quarterback Travis Lulay, will have the chance to showcase his talents on the professional level for the first time.  He is one of two former SVSU football student-athletes who are currently on a CFL roster (Matt Black - Toronto).
