BAY CITY - Saginaw Valley State University senior softball student-athlete Amanda Best has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball "Player of the Week" after leading the Cardinals to an 8-0 record this past week.

Best posted a .455 batting average (10-for-22) with four home runs, two doubles, six runs and 13 RBIs.  Her slugging percentage was 1.091 for the week as SVSU posted sweeps over Grand Valley State, Lake Erie, Northwood and Lake Superior State.

Saginaw Valley sits in third place in the GLIAC standings with a league record of 14-4.  The team has posted an overall mark of 24-15 for the 2015 season as well.
