MIDLAND - The SVSU women's tennis team faced the Hillsdale College Chargers in the second round of the 2015 GLIAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon. After claiming two of the three doubles matches over the Chargers, the Cardinals got victories in three singles matches to post a 5-3 win.

Singles play got started and Slonac put the Cards up 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the #6 singles slot.

Her doubles teammate Ismailova claimed victory next, winning 6-4, 6-3 at #1 singles to make the score 4-1.

The Chargers were able to notch wins at #3 and #4 singles to cut the deficit to 4-3, as SVSU's Shea Donahue and Erin Doud dropped three-set matches after claiming victory in the first set.

That left the #2 and #5 singles matches out to decide the team match.

Pico claimed her first set at #2 singles by a 7-5 count. She would go on to win the second set tiebreaker 7-6 (4) to seal the fifth SVSU point and notch one in the win column for the Cardinals. The #5 singles match with SV's Shonk was the only contest to go unfinished.
