UNIVERSITY CENTER - The SVSU women's tennis team fell on the road to the Northwood University Timberwolves in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
The Timberwolves claimed all three matches in doubles play, with all of the contests closely-contested. The Cardinals' #1 doubles team of Ana Pico and Erin Doud fell by a score of 8-5 and the #3 doubles duo of Abigail Shonk and Shea Donahue lost by that same 8-5 count. Danielle Slonac and Izabella Ismailova lost for just the second time at the #2 doubles position, as they are 8-2 on the season.
Ismailova lost a very close match at #1 singles as she lost in a third set tiebreaker, 10-7 after taking the first set 7-5 and dropping the second 6-2.
Pico also lost her second set tiebreaker, 7-6 (1) after dropping the first set 6-0 at #2 singles.

Up Next for SVSU
The Cardinals play their last home match of the season against Wayne State on Monday, October 19 at 2:00 pm. Saginaw Valley has locked-up the #7 seed in the 2015 GLIAC Tournament and is slated to face Northwood again, which will be the #2 seed at this year's tourney.
