UNIVERSITY CENTER - The Saginaw Valley State women's soccer team is ranked #22 in the first national NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II women's poll.
The Cardinals are off to an impressive 2-0-0 start with victories over Indianapolis and Bellarmine. The team travled to Tiffin, Ohio to participate in these early season regional games while posting 2-0 victorties in both contests.
The offense has had a balanced approach, as four different Lady Cardinals have scored in the early season. Sophomore goalkeeper Claire Spleth has been off to a solid start, not allowing a goal in the first two matches.
Saginaw Valley continues its 2014 schedule with another road match-up against Ferris State on Sunday (9/14) at noon. The Bulldogs are 0-2-0 in the early season with neutral site losses to Truman and Quincy. The Cardinals' first home GLIAC contest will be on Sunday, September 21st at noon against rival Northwood at Braddock Field.
