ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team fell to Nova Southeastern University today (Mar. 4), 8-1, on the first day of their annual spring trip.
Picking up the only point on the afternoon for the Cardinals was the duo of Yunjiao Shangguan (Chengdu, China/Shiyang HS) and Erin Doud (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) in No. 1 doubles who defeated their Nova Southeaster opponents, 8-3. Charlotte Wong (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island/Colonel Gray Senior High) battled in her match, but was outdone in No. 3 singles, falling 6-3, 6-1.
The SVSU tennis team falls to 10-9 overall on the season and will return to action on Tuesday (Mar. 5) when they play Christopher Newport on day two of their spring trip to Orlando.
