UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University freshman women's tennis student-athlete Izabella Ismailova is currently ranked as the #15 Singles Player in the Division II Midwest Region.

Ismailova had a standout freshman campaign in a Cardinal uniform.  The native of Almaty, Kazakhstan was selected to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team while competing this season at the #1 singles position.  She posted an 8-7 overall record at that position and a 7-8 record while splitting time at the #1 and #2 doubles spots.

Izabella made a semifinals appearance at the 2013 ITA Regional Tournament, as she defeated the then #14 and #5 ranked players before bowing-out to the tournament's #3 seed.

Ismailova defeated three players in the 2013 season who appear ahead of her in this most recent edition of the ITA Regional Rankings.
