ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team fell to DI Presbyterian College, 9-1 today (Mar. 6) in their second day of spring games in Florida. The Cardinals fall to 6-12 overall on their season.
The 1 Doubles team of Yunjiao Shangguan (Chendgdu, China/Shiyang HS) and Meghan Woody (Midland, Mich./Dow HS) would notch Saginaw Valley's only point of the afternoon as they secured a win over Presbyterian's Patricia Alves and Paige Oelke, 8-6.
In singles, junior Katie Piorkowski (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) battled hard for the Cardinals before eventually falling, 6-4 and 6-2 in her 5 Singles match against Lindsay Krause.
Saginaw Valley will be back in action Wednesday (Mar. 7) when they face off against Upper Iowa.
