ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Seven Saginaw Valley State University student-athletes participated in the NCAA Regional Career in Sports Forum held from March 16-18 at the University of Michigan. The weekend of events offered selected student-athletes the opportunity to learn and explore skills that will assist them in their transition to a future career in sports administration or coaching. The Cardinal student-athletes were joined by Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Academic Services Alex Tiseo.
Saginaw Valley, which had the most student-athletes selected out of any institution eligible to attend, was represented by following student-athletes:

"As one of the only freshman at the forum, it was a great experience and I learned what it takes to develop professionally into a career in the sports industry," said Olivia Perrin.
Selected participants were educated about careers in athletics by decision makers from both member institutions and the NCAA. Key areas of focus within the Career in Sports Forum's curriculum included an overview of the NCAA structure, goal setting sessions, business etiquette training, mock interviews as well as several opportunities to network with the student-athletes and athletics professionals in attendance.
"This was a great educational opportunity for our student-athletes to have", said Tiseo "and to have seven student-athletes selected is an honor for both our athletics department and institution. We must continue to look to provide our student-athletes with these types of unique experiences in order to help further their personal and professional development."
