UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University football team will take to the practice field for the first time this spring on Friday (Mar. 16) as they begin preparation for the 2012 season.  SVSU will use three of its allotted 15 practices this weekend as they look to finish their spring practice season on April 14 at 11:00 am in the annual Red/White Spring Football Game.

The Cardinals claimed a portion of the GLIAC North title in 2011 and qualified for the NCAA Playoffs for the second time in three years.  SVSU will open the regular season at home against Valdosta State on Sept. 1.
