STARKVILLE, Miss. – After starting the season with a 6-2 record in the opening half of its annual trip to the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla., the Saginaw Valley State University softball team played its way into the NFCA Division II Top 25 poll after beginning the season as the first team receiving votes in the opening poll of the season.
One of the Cardinals' two losses this season came at the hands of #23 Minnesota State-Mankato. SVSU defeated previously ranked Lewis University earlier this season. Saginaw Valley now stands as the only GLIAC team ranked in the top-25.
The Cardinals will round-out their annual trip to the Rebel Spring Games with eight games over the course of the next four days before returning back to University Center to open the northern portion of the schedule at home on March 19 against Concordia (Mich.).
