UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University held a dedication ceremony to recognize former Cardinal football All-American and current Philadelphia Eagle Todd Herremans for his generous contributions to help renovate the Herremans Family Weight Room.

Todd Herremans was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Since 2005, he has started 79 or 82 games and appeared in the NFL Playoffs in four of his six full seasons. In 2008, Herremans caught a touchdown pass as a tackle eligible receiver, becoming just the second player in team history since 1934 to accomplish that feat; he would catch his second career touchdown pass in 2010.

A four-year starter (2001-04) on the SVSU offensive line, Herremans helped lead the Cardinals to a 39-9 overall record and three NCAA post-season appearances. He was selected to the AFCA All-America team following the 2004 season, becoming the first Cardinal since 2000 and at the time, only the sixth SVSU player to earn that honor. Herremans was named First Team All-GLIAC and GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year in his senior campaign. In 2003, he helped lead the Cardinals to their only undefeated regular season in school history and was named First Team All-Region by D2Football.com and Second Team All-Region by Daktronics, Inc. Prior to SVSU, Herremans was a three-sport standout athlete at Ravenna (Mich.) High School. Todd was joined by his parents, Paul and Marilee Herremans.

Herremans and family members will be in attendance at the event, prior to Saginaw Valley's nationally televised football contest at 8:00 pm against Ashland University. The GLIAC contest can be seen on CBS College Sports Network as well as Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports Ohio.
