UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University softball team head coach Everett Roper has announced that seven players have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the 2011-12 season.

Kaitlyn McBride prepped at St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario where she was a standout player in both hockey and softball. She helped lead her softball team to two provincial championships and three Canadian Championships while recieving the Clara Wong Award for being a top student-athlete and the 8 City of Brampton Citizen Award. McBride will contribute in the infield for Saginaw Valley.

Mackenzie Rousse is a four year letter winner from Bay City Western where she was named first team All-Valley, all-district, all-region, and All-State honorable mention. She was named both offensive player of the year and player of the year while being a member of the Dream Team. Rouse set records at Bay City Western for on-base percentage, hits in a single season, total bases, batting average, and runs scored. Rousse will help to contribute to the outfield for the Cardinals.

Chelsea Davis was prepped at Mount Pleasant High School where she set a school record on the mound with 40 wins in the 2010 season and was named first team all-state. She was a member of the basketball, volleyball and softball teams for Mt. Pleasant HS. Davis helped lead her team to the 2010 state finals in softball. She will help to add depth to the pitching line up in the 2011-12 season for the Cardinals.

Kari Knight is a three sport athlete out of Walled Lake Northern in basketball, volleyball and softball.  She was named all-district three times, all-conference two times, and all-region once. Knight was also named honorable mention All-State and a member of the Oakland Press "Top 60 Players". She helped to lead her team to a KLAA Co-Championship and was ranked top 10 teams in Michigan. Knight will contribute as a catcher for the Cardinals.

Kayla Kazmierski was a member of both the basketball and softball team at Pinconning where she was named all-district three times, all-conference twice, and all-region once. She helped to lead her team to two district championships, one conference championship, and one regional championship. Kazmierski will help the Cardinals as both a pitcher and an outfielder.

Jordan Randall prepped at Clinton High School under head coach Al Roberts.  She holds the single season school record for hits (68) and runs (63) and also tied the record for doubles (16).  She was named All-State, all-region, all-district and all-county in 2009 and 2010.  Randall was selected at the TCC MVP in 2010.  She will help the Cardinals in either the infield or outfield.  

Chelsea Adcock is a four year letter winner in softball and a member of the volleyball team from Pinconning. She will help to contribute at Saginaw Valley in the infield, and is a lefty slapper who has many tools to work with in the batters box.
