BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley women's soccer team fell
today (Oct. 8) to Ferris State, 0-2 in a Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest.
The Cardinals fell behind 1-0 when Ferris State dribbled the
ball in and scored on one of their eight shots in the first half of
the game. Saginaw Valley had eight shots in the second half
compared to the Bulldogs four, but were unable to capitalize on any
of them as Ferris State went up 2-0 at the 85:42 mark in the match
up. Junior goaltender Anne
Berschbach (Algonac, Mich.) faced eleven shots on the day,
saving nine of them for the Cardinals
With the loss Saginaw Valley falls to 6-4-1 overall on the
season, and 5-3-1 in the GLIAC, while Ferris State improves to
5-5-1 overall on the season, and 5-3-1 in the GLIAC. The
Cardinals will be back in action when they travel to Allendale to
take on #4 Grand Valley on Sunday (Oct. 10). Game time is
scheduled for 12:00 pm.
