UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State tennis team has celebrated the 2008-09 season by honoring its top players at the team's annual banquet.

Freshman Natalie Schiefer (Frankenmuth, Mich.) received the Most Improved honor, while freshman Debra Hammond (Grand Blanc, Mich.) was voted the Newcomer of the Year.

Seniors Danielle Coldren (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and Katie Hanover (St. Johns, Mich.) were voted co-MVP.

The Cardinals ended the 08-09 season with a 4-15 record.
