Bay City, Mich. -- Saginaw Valley State University senior outfielder Marsha Beaubien (Alpena, Mich.) has been named GLIAC Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today (Mar. 18).

The senior outfielder was impressive at the 2009 Rebel Spring Games for the Cardinals, hitting .435 over the course of 16 games. Beaubien racked up 20 hits over the course of the week, including four doubles and two triples. She has nine RBI's and scored 15 times from the number two spot in the lineup. Marsha also stole 18 bases on 19 attempts for the week. She has stolen second and third on back-to-back pitches twice this season. Beaubien was an important catalyst in helping the Cardinals outscore their opponents 18-6 in the first inning this season.

The Cardinals will return to action on Monday, Mar. 23 when they travel to Michigan-Dearborn for a double-header.
