ASHLAND, Ohio. – The SVSU tennis team
lost to Ashland University 6-3 on Friday.
SVSU sophomore Sarah Campian (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) defeated
Ashland's Corienne Pasley in three sets 6-3, 7-5 and 12-10
and Cardinal junior Jessica Stone (Flushing, Mich. Flushing HS) won
in straight sets over Ashland's Alexandra Ware 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles action, SVSU's freshman Debra Hammond (Grand
Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS)) and Campian won the lone match for
the Cardinals 8-4.
The loss gives SVSU a record of 2-6 overall and 2-6 in the GLIAC
as they head into their next match against Tiffin University on
Saturday (Oct. 4).
