Lauren Huebner - Women's Track & Field
SVSU junior track & field student-athlete Lauren Huebner claimed the national championship in the heptathlon at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Texas.
Huebner finished with a total of 5,634 points, besting her previous school record in the performance. She became only the program's fifth student-athlete to claim an NCAA national title and the first since Paul Markel in 2001. It marks her second all-american honor for SVSU.
Huebner was one of three Cardinals to claim all-american plaudits this past weekend, joining Ryan Kelly (Shot Put) and Allison Dorr (10,000 meter).
