Elizabeth Willford (Gladwin, Mich./Gladwin HS), a senior pole vaulter on the SVSU Women's Track and Field team, placed first in the vault clearing a height of 3.55 meters (11 feet, 11 1/4 inches), which is only six inches lower than the school record.

Willford opened the indoor track season with a 3.64 meters vault at the SVSU Holiday Classic on Dec. 2. Elizabeth also recorded a mark of 3.44 meters at the SVSU-hosted Doug Hansen Open. The Saginaw Valley school record is 3.70 meters.
