From Head Coach Jenn Boehm...
"The team score was truly not reflective of our performances today. We played hard and pushed this Northwood team on every court. We just came up a little short in the closest matches. I was really happy with how we handled the pressure and fought for every point.
Doubles was a highlight with the #1 and #3 teams coming within a few points of turning things out way. They all played smart and with great energy which is what we need to play our best.
Maddie played a phenomenal match at the #1 singles position and I have been especially proud of how she has handled the challenges of the top spot. Nicole also fought to a 3rd set tiebreaker at #6 which will only make her tougher moving forward.
We look forward to playing at home for our final matches next weekend and hope to have a big crowd to create that home court advantage."
Saginaw Valley returns home this upcoming weekend for the final two matches of the regular season. The Cardinals face GVSU Saturday (Oct. 20) at noon before hosting Ferris State Sunday in a 10:00 a.m. match.
