Men's Golf opens GLIAC Championship play in Ohio

NASHPORT, Ohio -- The SVSU men's golf team competed in the opening round of the 2017 GLIAC Championships, hosted at The Virtues Golf Club in Ohio. The Cardinals played on the per-72, 7,243 yard layout. 

Saginaw Valley posted an opening round score of 317 (+29), sitting in 11th place overall after the first 18 holes of play. The Cards sit three behind Northwood, Walsh and Wayne State. Ferris State leads after first round play with a score of 295.

Ryan Peruski had the low round of the day for SV, shooting a 76 (+4). He sits in a tie for 15th overall. 

Mason Motte sits in a tie for 35th place, as he carded an opening score of 79 (+7).

Three Cardinals posted a score of 81, as Austin Carter, Dustin Pumford and Jared Lyons all sit tied for 46th overall after that score.

Up Next...

After teeing-off in the afternoon flight on Friday, the Cardinals will play in the morning on Saturday looking to climb up the standings.
