Kalen Foreman Transfers to Saginaw Valley

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University head men's basketball coach Randy Baruth has announced the signing of Kalen Foreman, a 6-foot 9-inch transfer from Gillette College in Gillette, Wyoming.

Foreman is a Michigan native who prepped at Allen Academy in Detroit where he garnered All-State recognition and was named Class C Defensive Player of the Year in 2009-10. Kalen averaged 9.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 6.6 blocks per game during his senior season of high school.

"Kalen brings athleticism, length, and a fantastic family upbringing and a true understanding of the team concept," commented coach Baruth.

Foreman is coming off his second year of collegiate play at Gillette College where he posted 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest in the 2011-12 campaign.

"We are excited to work with Kalen and help him become the best player he can be," said coach Baruth.

Kalen holds the school record for blocked shots in a single game (7) and in a season (46). He also shot over 50 percent from the field in each of his first two seasons and is fourth all-time in rebounds in a single season (155).
