Gunnar Stein – Men's Golf
Redshirt freshman Gunnar Stein from Houghton, Mich., finished with a first place individual win at the OVU Highland Cup Challenge, posting rounds of 67-70 to finish three-under.
The team also finished first overall, breaking the 36 hole program record, carding rounds of 285-276 to finish with a one-over tally of 561, 12 shots clear of Malone University for the championship. The score of 561 broke the previous mark of 573.
The SVSU Men's Golf team will head on the road to play in the Wayne State Invitational to round out the fall schedule. It is set to take place Sunday through Monday at the TPC Michigan Golf Course in Dearborn, Michigan.
McKenzie Schuster – Women's Volleyball
Senior right side hitter McKenzie Schuster posted a career high of 21 kills against Davenport University Saturday afternoon, averaging 4.20 kills per set. For the 3-0 victory against Purdue Northwest on Friday night, Schuster also posted double figure kills and a block. She tallied a .270 hitting percentage and four blocks over the weekend.
The Cardinals will be back in action at the Regional Cross Over this weekend where they will take on three opponents, starting with Quincy at 11 a.m. on Friday followed by Maryville and Truman State on Saturday. Please visit the event's official website for more information.
