UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Student-athletes from Saginaw Valley State University participated in a Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C) community service project on October 13th at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Bay City.
A total of 23 student-athletes representing several different
teams at SVSU, participated in community service project that
included tasks such as cleaning the facility, organizing and
tidying-up the play areas and even helping in the kitchen.
The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission is a division of the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw that provides emergency assistance to the people of Mid-Michigan in their time of need. Individuals can come to the Mission to find solutions to their physical and spiritual needs, where they can find a safe haven for a fresh start at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.
“It was a great experience to get so many athletes from different teams to come out and participate and help give back to the community,” commented senior cross country runner Lauren Hill. “The appreciation and gratitude that we received from the people at the Mission made the whole experience worthwhile.”
